Girls' Football Tournament - October 2024 

On Friday 11^th October, SVPS Girls’ Football Team took park in the ESFA girls Years 5/6 Tournament. 

They played two teams in their group twice, and won all their matches, 6-0,5-1,7-0 and 8-0, and won their group! All the group winners met at Ashley Manor to play in the finals play offs. SVPS won all their matches comfortably and were through to the finals against St Marks Primary School. The match was what you should expect a final to be; very close with both teams playing with passion and determination. Extra time was played as the result was 2-2, and after extra time, penalties were needed to decide the overall winner. This was a very exciting but nerve-wracking time. Five girls volunteered: SVPS missed 1 out of 5 and the St Marks missed 2 out of 5, therefore SVPS won the tournament.

What a great afternoon of football. A massive well done to: Harriet, Arabella, Aaliyah, Rosie, Niamh, Mia, Zofia and Laura. For some of these players, this is their first-time playing football since joining our school club, so well done and we are so proud of you all.

Next is the county finals on Dec 5th. Thank you to those who gave lifts and stayed to support at the finals.
