On 5th March, our Girls’ Football A Team represented Cheltenham Town FC in the regional finals at Swindon Town.
They had an amazing day; in the morning they were in the skill dome, and then met a Swindon Town ladies' player who gave a talk about equality and diversity and her journey into football. The afternoon was full of group matches against Plymouth, Exeter, Cardiff, Oxford and Bristol. They finished top of their group, which put them into the semi-finals against Swindon Town. This was a very close game, which went to extra time and then penalties. Unfortunately, we lost by 1 penalty. We were then in the 3rd place play off, which didn't go our way. Many chances on goal for us, the opposition put us under pressure and we couldn't stop them scoring.
We finished 4th out of 13 regional/southwest teams, and they should feel very proud of their achievements. SVPS and Cheltenham Town FC are very proud of them. Well done to Arabella, Aaliyah, Laura, Niamh, Rosie, Harriet, Mia and Zofia. Mrs Brown thinks you are amazing!
